Polymer Breakers

Drilling Fluids – Polymer Breakers

Polymer Breakers reduces the viscosity of a fluid by breaking long-chain molecules into shorter segments. Drilling fluids are commonly emulsified or contain long-chain molecules that have sufficient viscosity to carry cuttings to surface. After the drilling fluid has been used to drill a well or interval, a breaker may be added to reduce the viscosity of the fluid by breaking down the long chain molecules into shorter molecules. A surfactant may be added to an emulsion to reduce its viscosity.

  • Chembreak EBS

Chembreak EBS is white powder with an enzyme blend designed to consume the wide range of natural and semi-synthetic polymer chains. It is a water-soluble enzyme breaker for cellulosic, guar and starch type polymers.

  • Chembreak ECA

Chembreak ECA is free flowing white powder and an enzyme blend designed to consume the wide range of natural and semi-synthetic polymer chains. It is a water-soluble enzyme breaker for cellulosic, guar and starch type polymers.

  • Chembreak HC

Chembreak HC is white/grey granules that are used as a chemical oxidizer breaker for all types of polymers. It is a hypochlorite oxidizer designed to react with all water-soluble polymers and degrade them.

  • PNP Emulsion Break

A PNP Emulsion Break is a propylene glycol normal propyl ether base product that helps to break oil emulsions.
