Shale Control Inhibitors

Drilling Fluids – Shale Control Inhibitors

Drilling practices and the physical and chemical properties of drilling fluids can either enhance or erode borehole stability. Marquis Alliance’s Shale Control Inhibitors serve as preventive measures that help Operators avoid the difficult and expensive tasks associated with remediating an unstable formation.

  • Alcomer 110 RD

Alcomer 110 RD is multi-functional PHPA drilling fluid additive, which has been specially processed to achieve excellent dispersal results. This special process allows particles to wet separately and dissolution can proceed rapidly without the formation of lumps or “fish eyes”. Alcomer 110 RD is a high molecular weight, anionic, water-soluble, acrylamide-based copolymer. The product is supplied as a free-flowing powder.

  • Alcomer 120 L

Alcomer 120 L is an anionic polyacrylamide copolymer supplied in a mineral oil carrier fluid. Alcomer 120L is a low viscosity liquid with excellent freeze/thaw and long-term stability. It mixes readily and dissolves quickly into water based drilling fluids. It is a multifunctional polymer developed for use in water based drilling fluids.

  • Alcomer 60 RD

    Alcomer 60 RD is a readily dispersible, acrylamide-based co-polymer.

  • Alkapam 1003N

Alkapam 1003N is a high molecular weight water-soluble acrylamide copolymer with a nonionic charge. It is a free-flowing granular material that disperses readily in water, and reduces the formation of “fish eyes”.

  • Alkapam 1703A

Alkapam 1703A is a readily dispersible, very high molecular weight water-soluble acrylamide copolymer with a 30% anionic charge density. Alkapam 1703A is supplied as a free flowing granular form that is fast hydrating. Alkapam 1703A is also available in emulsion form as EA-73.

  • Alkapam A-1103D

Alkapam A-1103D and A-1703D are water-soluble acrylamide co-polymers. They disperse readily in water minimizing the formation of “fish eyes”.

  • Bri-Chem Inhibi-Drill

Bri-Chem Inhibi-Drill is a cationic organic multivalent clay inhibitor used as a drilling fluid additive and as a fixative for water flood clay stabilization. Inhibi-Drill has a small ionic radius allowing easy substitution on the exchange sites for the sodium ion, thereby blocking the sites and preventing water hydration.

  • Bri-Chem Inhibi-Drill MAX

Bri-Chem Inhibi-Drill MAX is a cationic organic multivalent clay inhibitor used as a drilling fluid additive and as a fixative for water flood clay stabilization. Inhibi-Drill MAX has a small ionic radius allowing easy substitution on the exchange sites for the sodium ion, thereby blocking the sites and preventing water hydration.

  • Eco Drill 743

Eco Drill 743 is a potassium silicate powder used for inhibiting shale.

  • Encapsorfloc

Encapsorfloc is a liquid polyacrylamide shale control inhibitor for water based systems.

  • Gypsum

Gypsum (CaSO4●2H2O) is a naturally hydrated Calcium Sulphate and is only slightly soluble in water.

  • Hyperdrill AE 851

Hyperdrill® AE 851 is a high molecular weight, medium charge, polyacrylamide supplied as a low viscosity emulsion. By design, it mixes easily and yields rapidly.

  • Hyperdrill AF 204 RD

Hyperdrill AF 204 RD is a water-soluble acrylamide co-polymer. AF 204 RD disperses readily in water minimizing the formation of “fish eyes”.

  • Hyperdrill AF 207 RD

    AF 207 RD is a readily dispersible acrylamide-based co-polymer.

  • Hyperdrill AF 247 RD

Hyperdrill AF 247 RD is a low molecular weight, anionic acrylamide-based co-polymer.

  • Hyperdrill CP 905

Hyperdrill CP 905 is a high molecular low charge, cationic polyacrylamide supplied as a dry, granular powder. It has excellent handling characteristics, mixes easily and dissolves quickly in water. It is effective over a pH range of 3-10.

  • Hyperdrill CP 911

Hyperdrill CP 911 is a very high charge, high molecular weight cationic polyacrylamide flocculant supplied as a granular powder. It is effective over the pH range of 3-10.

  • Kasolv 16

Kasolv 16 is a potassium silicate that can be used in applications relating to drilling fluids, but has been designed specifically for applications where either cold-water solubility or dry blending are required, such as drilling fluids or oilfield service cements.

  • Potash

Potash is commonly known as potassium chloride (KCl) or Muriate of Potash.

  • Potassium Sulphate

Potassium Sulphate (K2SO4) is used to provide free potassium (K+) ions in water base drilling fluids.
