Environmental Monitoring

Environmental Monitoring

Marquis Alliance provides environmental monitors on aboriginal land. These monitors are employed to ensure that traditional and cultural land use areas are protected. Monitors work in cooperation with the energy company and act as liaison with the Band to assess environmental issues on sites for development and existing sites. They also act as a liaison between the Band and the energy company to ensure that the Band is made aware of all operations on aboriginal land.

Following program completion, an as-built report is prepared to IOGC criteria, which outlines any problems encountered, compliance with IOGC terms and reclamation activities.

When required, Saskatchewan Environment has provided environmental monitors for development on environmentally sensitive land in Saskatchewan. Technicians are required to monitor construction, development and to evaluate impacts and success of mitigative measures.

Once complete, an as-built report is prepared in accordance with published guidelines. This report is prepared to provide an assessment of the project, to provide a quality assurance function for regulators and to aid in dealing with public concerns regarding development in sensitive areas.
