Regulatory Compliance

Regulatory Compliance

Marquis Alliance was constructed on a firm foundation that consists of safe work practices, responsible environmental stewardship and an ongoing commitment of service to our clients. Drilling waste disposal operations are conducted with the end result in mind before our field personnel arrive at the site.

An important component of our compliance assessment on waste disposal sites takes reclamation requirements into account alongside disposal guidelines.

Training

Training is fundamental to our success both in the field and at our office. New field technicians are exposed to an intensive in-house training program that includes safety orientations, proper sampling techniques, review of standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines, test kit orientation and reporting processes. Hands on field training with senior environmental technicians finalize their training before taking on work as a Marquis Alliance representative.

ERCB Model

Marquis Alliance has adopted the Energy Resources Conservation Board’s (ERCB) model for drilling waste audit inspections and uses that as a starting point when senior personnel conduct site visits.

Technicians have come to expect a review of their laboratory field books, test kits, sampling procedures and disposal site selection upon routine auditing. The drilling waste field and office staff meets yearly as a group to review procedures, communicate industry changes and upgrade training and reporting.

Department

Marquis Alliance has devoted a department to regulatory compliance that works closely with the operations team to supply disposal recommendations in a timely and accurate fashion. The manager of the department has 15 years of compliance assurance experience, which guides and informs our environmental programmers in their day-to-day practices. Individuals from this department are routinely deployed to our clients’ offices to assist with audit responses, liability management and data acquisitions.

We are committed to providing the most comprehensive service package to ensure regulatory compliance in all regions of operations.

For projects based in British Columbia, our staff provides the necessary waste geo-referencing required for EPASS shape file submissions.
